Protect your feline friend from life-threatening illnesses with a vaccination plan.
Vaccines are designed to keep cats and kittens healthy. Each shot boosts your furry friend’s immune system to stop them from catching diseases. Vaccines are generally safe and harmless for your pet. Our hospital provides all the vaccines required by law to keep your loyal companion safe.
The timeline for when your cat should be vaccinated is dependent on whether they are an indoor or outdoor pet. If your kitten has a special condition or illness their vaccinations timeline may also look different. If any of these conditions apply to your pet, reach out to our team so we can create a special timeline for your kitten. Schedule an appointment at 506-858-9900.
The following vaccinations timeline is generally used for indoor and outdoor kittens.
6- to 10-weeks-old: FVRCP- Panleukopenia, Rhinotracheitis, Calicivirus
11- to 14-weeks-old: FVRCP, Feline Leukemia (for outdoor cats)
16 weeks and older: FVCRP, Feline Leukemia and Rabies
Once the kitten round of vaccinations is complete, an adult cat should get their first shot after a year. Your cat should receive one shot every year or one shot every three years depending on the vaccines prescribed by their veterinarian.
Most kittens or cats do not show any sign of discomfort after receiving their vaccinations. Some pets may have fever, hives, diarrhea, soreness where they received their shot. These side effects usually go away within a day or two. If your pet experiences any side effects for longer than two days you should contact our team.
